Band Biography

The Flamin' Heart Band started 2 years ago here in New Mexico. They have 30 years experience between them and are one of the most exciting country bands in the state. They've opened for such names as Clay Walker, Exile and John Berry, just to name a few.

Luke Goff is the band leader, lead vocalist, lead guitarist and plays 11 different instruments. They are a family, four piece band, and live right here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They play regularly at Rudy's Honky Tonk, The Caravan East, Boot Scoots, The Red Carpet, and The Top Deck.

Luke Goff has been in music since he was 12 years old, raised
mostly on the road playing in his father's show band.

Tracy Lawrence said,
"Son, you're definately going to be 'there' someday!"
He got his start by trying to out-play his dad, so-to-speak. Check out the band's Road Stories for the REAL DEAL. Luke learned to play the guitar at the age of 12 and played with this family band for 9 years then moved on to play in some other great bands. He then decided to start his own band in 1997, after meeting his wife, Nea Mc Keon at a rock club in Albuquerque, NM., who was a drummer looking for work.
Now the band's lead guitarist and lead vocalist, as well as the only fiddle player in the family, he said,
"The responsibilties are tremendous. I never realized how much work
running a band really was until I decided to do it myself". "There's the booking, taxes,
scheduling rehearsals, singing, playing, charting the songs, driving to gigs,
and tons of other things you'de never think of."
Nea Mc Keon is a born and raised New Mexico native, having spent some time in Vermont and in Texas, she still came back here for roots sake. She started playing at age 16 in school and still has the first set of drums she ever bought; a set of orange Ludwig Vista-Lites, and the Ziljan cymbals that came with it. She started playing with a Native-American band from the Isleta reservation at the age of (?) and has been into about every kind of music you can imagine. She had to quit for a time to raise her two boys, Nick and Heath, but says,
"I have no regrets about that. They have turned out as perfect as a mother could ask for,
and still I was able to follow my calling as a musician later. "
Her boys are the focus of the last half of the band Biography.
Nick dickens is the bands rhythm and secondary lead guitarist. He has the drive to make it not only as a musician, but anything else he sets his mind to. He practices about 5 hours a day, and that's just for fun! You should see him when he really gets going! Nick is an A student in high school, makes some of the greatest pottery sculpures you can find, and even has his own punk band; Jolly Roger. His interest inall fields of music is part of what makes this band so good. His influences combined with everyone elses, makes this band unique to country music. He Says,
It's all good!
Heath is our poet and story writer, as well as the bass player. His imagination sparks everyone to try just a little harder to find the heart inside ourselves. A college student, Heath is studying to become a teacher. He's also a video game addict, and hopes to make it a career one day. Maybe in testing. His favorite band is Megadeath, reads at least a book a week; science-fiction/fantasy, [straight-edger], A definate ladies man.
Favorite quote: "As you are now, so once was I, prepare my friends to follow me."
Heath says, "Practice!"

Check out the schedule and come to see this great band perform. You'll be hooked from minute one!
